The Music, The Message
02:54
|
|||
If you're anything like me then you know how it feels
To turn on your stereo and find something real
If you ever need to hear something to confirm
That somebody relates to you... hold firm
When you come home after class
Wait all day for it to pass
Go back to your room and turn your music on
And it sounds good and fun
But it's already been done
Can we hear something to believe in?
The music, the message
Climbing from the wreckage
Of the songs of yesteryear
The music, the message
I guess I'd suggest it
Can we find something sincere?
If you're feeling down and you need somewhere to belong
Just look around and try to find that special song
In time you may realize there are those who understand
And maybe things will turn out a bit better than you planned
When you feel like no one cares
When your life is a nightmare
Don't worry about the ones who tell you what to be
They can't pull you down
No, they don't rule this town
Take a stand for a new society
The music, the message
Climbing from the wreckage
Of the songs of yesteryear
The music, the message
I guess I'd suggest it
Can we find something sincere?
The music, the message
Climbing from the wreckage
Of the songs of yesteryear
The music, plays on
And we still sing the same songs
Can we find something sincere?

Make A Difference
03:23
|
|||
Today I wrote a message that looks on the upsides
I stuffed it in a bottle and I headed outside
Walked down to the river and threw the bottle in
I hope that it found it's way to someone who needed it
We could sure complain about all that's going wrong
But instead we could just laugh it off and feel better before long
I wrote this song to cheer you up if you're lonely in your room
All the days are passing by, but you can cure your gloom
Bring joy to those around you
It's what we should all try to do
Give them one good reason to throw problems out the door
And then maybe everyone could see
A difference in what can be
With a dorky smile and a couple cheesy jokes
Oh when it rains let's just embrace it and have a little fun
I also don't mind hotter days cuz I'll just soak up the sun
And when the song that drives you mad is on the radio
Just sing along like you don't care and treat it like a joke
Bring joy to those around you
It's what we should all try to do
Give them one good reason to throw problems out the door
And then maybe everyone could see
A difference in what can be
With a dorky smile and a couple cheesy jokes

Back To School
02:25
|
|||
In the middle of the summer it gets pretty lonely
Workin' this job just tryin' to earn money
But that's alright, I know where I wanna be
Back at school with my friends surroundin' me
I gotta admit, I miss being there
I miss playin' my guitar in the autumn air
I miss my friends
I miss walkin' around with my uke at night
I miss the glow of campus lights
I miss my friends
As of today it's the middle of June
I'm just wishing fall would get here soon
I'm sitting around, in this really empty town
There's really no one here to come around
I gotta admit, I miss being there
I miss playin' my guitar in the autumn air
I miss my friends
I miss walkin' around with my uke at night
I miss the glow of campus lights
I miss my friends
I gotta admit, I miss everyone
I miss hangin' out, I miss havin' fun
I miss goin' out when class would end
And having plans every single weekend
I miss my friends

Jump Rope
00:32
|
|||
There was this girl I used to see
Quite often, I wonder if she ever noticed me
Because I never really got the nerve
Never really talked to her
But now it's just too late and I don't know
I wonder if she thought of me
I wonder if she thought of me
She probably didn't

Rainy Day Interlude
02:21
|
|||
The rain is comin' down outside my window
And I don't mind at all
The rain is comin' down and wouldn't you know
I listen to it fall
It sounds so beautiful and timing's perfect
I was already staying in today
I don't need to prove a thing to you
The rain falls down and emotions ring so-oh true
The sun will be out again tomorrow
And I look forward to it
That's okay cause I can borrow
A little change seen fit
It sounds so beautiful and timing's perfect
I was staying in today
I don't need to prove a thing to you
The rain falls down and emotions ring so-oh true

Last Prospect
00:23
|
|||
On that day I made my plans
I came to put them into place
I came and they said you were gone
They said you wouldn't be back
End of story
It was a pathetic daydream anyway
Yeah. Yeah.

Friday Nights In Tampa
02:49
|
|||
I'll be trying to make my way
To Friday nights in Tampa Bay
Go to a show and sing along
Or go to Boba and play my songs
When the week is over I meet up with my friends
And we're gonna make sure to have a weekend to remember
We'll wait around, I'll go on stage
Mess it up and hide my face
We'll have a laugh and move along
Grab my guitar and play another song
When the week is over I meet up with my friends
And we're gonna make sure to have a weekend to remember
