Passing by all the signs
From politicians who say
"This year you should vote for me
Opposing party is the enemy"
But do they really care
About this failing economy?
I don't have the time to spend

Who likes to talk about politics
But it seems election time
Brings out the worst in our candidates

To hide our state of affairs

Back when I first met you I thought you seemed pretty nice
But now I'm seeing more and more how you treat all the guys

Sleep for about an hour and a half
Wake at 1:26 AM
Calculate and do the math
Then try to fall asleep once again
Wake to the stupid song my alarm plays every morning at 8
Check my calendar
It's been more than a summer's wait
I swore to myself I'd do it right this time

It's just a fantasy
Nightmare and incomplete

Always trying to shove thier opinions down our throats
And maybe if they could just keep it simple
They wouldn't have to resort to misreading quotes
