Well I was in my room, doing some recording
For a brand new song take I was singing
When I heard a loud sound
Electricity went out
And I was scared
I checked after I heard that noise
It smelled like something was burning
And it was coming from the closet in the hall
It turns out that my water heater had totally stalled
And the breakers flipped
But there was nothing I could do
Now I don't know how I'll sleep
It's 95 degrees
It's Florida summer and you know what that means
Without the a/c, there's nothing you can do
To live comfortably
If you're like... this

I never even wrote this song. I recorded it in one take while making it up on the spot after my electricity went out. I was in the middle of recording a different upcoming track when I heard a loud boom and all the lights went out. Then I discovered my water heater had partially exploded and all power was gone, even after I flipped the outside breaker. I figured I might as well have some fun, so I saved what I'd been working on and recorded this in one take before my laptop battery died. Enjoy.
The lead singer of punk band Camp Cope ventures into romantic synth-pop territory, tempering slick arrangements with bare sentiment.
